the Orson Hyde Hickenlooper Family

In 1882 Orson Hyde Hickenlooper with his younger brothers Charles and George built the original three-room adobe home.  The Hickenlooper boys with their mother Ann Hickenlooper moved from Salt Lake City to a one-room log cabin on the South end of the property.  After two years in the Cabin, the boys completed this larger structure leaving the log home to his older married sister Rachel and husband Ducan McLane.

Mother Anne died in 1888 leaving the Home to Orson and his second wife Elizabeth Wallace. Orson and Charles worked as an accomplished brick and rock mason for many years building many of the stone homes and buildings in the Willard area. During this time they also add to Orson’s home completing the second level and the exterior brickwork. Orson and Elizabeth were prominent in home theater and active in Community and church activities.

The property was sold to Henry L. Jensen in 1917, Orson, Elizabeth, and their family moved to Blackfoot, Idaho.
