School Houses of Pleasant View

Pleasant View started teaching their youth very early on in the settling of the area. The first school house was located at the top of 900 West, on the West side of the street prior to entering the Pole Patch subdivision. Old logs and stones are still at the location of where it was built.

The picture in the header is of the second brick school house built in Pleasant View. It was located where the Pleasant View City baseball park is now located on Pleasant View drive and 900 West.

Below is a picture taken in front of the first brick school house. Not much of the school house is shown, but the picture is unique in that those in the photograph are specifically identified. One can read early names of settlers and first descendent’s of those families.
